Tom Dabney is a 1968 graduate of Berry Academy. Tom grew up in Coral Gables, FL. Today he is a
resident of Sarasota, FL, having lived there since 1980. Tom is the owner of Gulf Coast Property
Services, Inc., and a partner in Hi Hat Ranch.
After graduating from Berry, Tom attended Tallahassee Community College from 1968-1969. He then
entered the U. S. Army and served in Vietnam. Upon his return from military service, he entered
Florida State University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
Tom's family business, Hi Hat Ranch, is a cattle and citrus operation in Sarasota County. He is a
licensed real estate agent and broker and he has served on many community planning boards. He is
currently chair of the Southwest Florida Water Management District's Governing Board Regulation
Committee and he is a member of the Finance and Administration Committee. He is also the co-chair
ex-officio of the Manasota Basin Board and he is the Governing Board's liaison to the Well Drillers
Advisory Committee.
Tom's older brother, Chuck, is a 1966 graduate of Berry Academy. Chuck lives in Eugene, OR.
