Dale Cummings
"Up To The Challenge"
Class of 1966
Everyone remembers Dale Cummings for setting the world sit-ups record in 1965 (See the newspaper
article down below) and his life after Berry has been marked by achievements in that same record-setting
style.

Dale owns his own business, Cummings Painting and Construction. His greatest professional
achievements are the formation of American Mining Oil Minerals and earning two graduate and two
undergraduate degrees. Dale reports that his most rewarding personal accomplishments are having
trained the Heavyweight Champion of the World in American Kickboxing and leading the scientific
expedition with James Irwin, American Astronaut on the Moon, in search of Noah's Ark on Mt. Ararat in
Turkey.

In 1982 he endowed the University of Georgia with the finest electron microscope in the world and that
helped UGA and the Medical College of Georgia in the battle against cancer. He has received three
United States Patents and a 2nd world record in physical fitness.

Dale fondly remembers his years at Berry, especially working at the water works plant with Hoyt Wood,
spending time with his classmates and roommates, and the challenges of the sports programs and
competitions. His funniest memories are falling off the path into the creek from the icy surface from
Friendship Hall to the cafeteria, riding the water wheel at the Old Mill and not being able to get off, and
taking a leak near the House o' Dreams and then looking up to see two girls and two boys.

Dale enjoys American kickboxing and has his 2nd degree black belt. He enjoys ballroom dancing, in
which he won the Studebaker's Dance Contest in Atlanta, and he also enjoys reading. Dale lives in
Dawsonville, GA.
