Barry Brooks
Class of 1967
Barry Lynn Brooks, 65, of Fairfield Plantation, Villa Rica died Wednesday, February 4,
2015, at his residence.

He was born in Austell, Georgia on March 1, 1949, the son of the late Lloyd William
Brooks and the late Lillian Lois Freeman Brooks. He lived most of his life in the
Douglas and Carroll County area and served his country honorable in the United
States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for thirty years in the automotive
industry in customer service and had been retired for several years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Brooks.

Survivors include his wife, Adele Brooks of Villa Rica; two daughters, Shawn Noland of
Douglasville and Brandy Wilbourn and her husband, Jeff, of Douglasville; three
grandchildren, Payton, Reagan and Ryan; three brothers, Bill Brooks & his wife,
Janelle, of Texas, Jim Brooks and his wife, Cathy, of Stone Mountain and Larry Brooks
of Waco; a sister, Carolyn Carsley and her husband, Robert, of Austell; his step
children, John and Stephanie Holtizapple of Texas, Chris and Nicole Holtizapple of
Douglasville, Alex and Arina Holtizapple of Brazil and Jessica Holtizapple of Armuchee;
his best friends, "Mike and Cooper"; and a number of nieces, nephews and other
relatives.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, February 7, 2015, from
1:00-3:00 P.M.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 3:00 P.M. from the
chapel of the J. Hoyt Thomas Funeral Home with Chaplain Kenneth Brown officiating;
Music will be provided by Greg Gibson.

In accordance with his wishes, the body has been cremated.
