Ellis Hand

Ellis Hand, age 61, of Calhoun, passed away on Tuesday, March 22,

Mr. Hand was born on March 11, 1955, in Rome, Georgia son of the
late Maddox Hand and Margaret Vaughan Hand. Mr. Hand worked in
Public Education. He was a veteran, proudly serving with the United
States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister,
Peggie Hand Price, and by an infant daughter, Sarah Hand.

Funeral services for will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016, at 2:00
pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Rome with
Bishop Nick Filetti officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Hill
Memorial Gardens with full military honors conducted by the
Brewster-Cleveland Post #86 Honor Guard.

No formal visitation will be held, but a gathering of family and friends
will be held at Schroeder’s New Deli, 406 Broad Street, Rome, on
Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 4 until 7 pm. The family respectfully
requests that flowers please be omitted and that memorial
contributions be made to: the Ellis Hand Fund, c/o any branch of the
Greater Community Bank.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints in Rome on Monday March 28, 2016, at 1:45 pm
and include: Ian Hand, William Hand, Megan Hand, Dennie
Corntassel, Tim Maynard, and Tom Ray. Henderson and Sons
Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the arrangements for
Mr. Ellis Hand.
