In Memoriam
Jonathan Jordan
Class of 1972
Jonathan Jordan, class of 1972 and one of the great athletes in Berry history, passed away
suddenly of an apparent heart attack while out for a run with his son on September 22, 2018.
Jonathan was one of four brothers and a sister who attended the academy (Jonathan ‘72, Paul ‘73,
Peter Marshall ‘75, Jamie ’76 and Jodi ’81) and their mother was the proctor in Friendship Hall for
many years. All four brothers wore basketball uniform number 44 and it is believed to be the only
Berry jersey that was ever retired.

Jonathan lived in Alpine, CA and was a successful attorney in San Diego and had a horse farm
which he loved. He was inducted into the Berry Sports Hall of Fame in October, 2017.
