Monroe King
Class of 1960
Monroe Martin King, age 64, of Acworth, GA died Friday, August 18,
August 21, 2006 at Towne View Baptist Church in Kennesaw, GA.
Mr. King is survived by his wife, Sandra Burgess King of Acworth;
mother Bertha Wade King of Tallapoosa, GA; son Daniel King of
Acworth, GA; daughter Clara K. Evans of Rockmart, GA; brother
Wade King of Mechanicsville, VA; sister Jane Cumby of Tallapoosa,
GA and 6 grandchildren.

Mr. King was a long time resident of Tallapoosa, GA and Douglas
County. He was a member of Towne View Baptist Church, 1960
Alumnus of Berry Academy for Boys in Mt. Berry, GA and a
graduate of West Georgia College. He was also a member of the
National Academy of Certified Archivists. He was a researcher and
publisher of histories of Tallapoosa, GA, John S. Pemberton
(founder of Coca-Cola) and Sweetwater Creek State Park also
known as New Manchester in Douglas County, GA.

The family will receive friends at Towne View Baptist Church in
Kennesaw, GA on Sunday, August 20, 2006 from 6 until 8 o'clock
pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berry College in
Rome, GA. Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home is in charge of
