Chip Williams
Class of 1974
Mr. Edward Earl “Chip” Williams, Jr. age 59, of Garden
Lakes passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in a
local hospital.

A native of Floyd County, Mr. Williams was born March
20, 1956 son of Nell Culpepper Williams and the late
Edward Earl Williams, Sr. He had been a resident of
Rome most of his life . He was a graduate of Berry
Academy, attended Floyd Jr. College and was
employed as a courier. Chip’s life though, centered
around baseball and music. He was very active in Pony
League baseball, but loved all sports. He was a bass
player with several groups over the years, the last or
most notable being “One Fine Mess”.

Survivors include his mother, Nell, two brothers Stan
and Greg (Tara), and a special niece, Katy. Several
cousins also survive.

Memorial services will be conducted Sunday,
September 27, 2015 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Garden
Lakes Baptist Church with Reverends Bob Skelton and
Gary Graves officiating. The family will receive friends
from 3 until 4 PM in the chapel.
